Reflective Fabrics are a combination of reflective bead qualities and a substrate of spandex or other grounds. The use of reflective thread in the weaving process means the reflective design can be more fully integrated into the garment. Reflective fabrics are achieved by laminating or sandwiching reflective sheeting or patterns on to another substrate, either woven or knit.
Applications: Reflective novelty fabrics can be used as inserts with solid non reflective fabrics to add greater visibility and value to activewear.
Common Pitfalls: Cost must be considered and judicious placement of the fabrics needs to be weighed in to get the most obvious effect of reflectivity on the garment.
